Of course, I would love to have a permanent display for my artwork on the wall, but that’s not possible (and even if it was, it wouldn’t hold any kind of art I want to hang there). A wall shelf can be a good temporary storage, but I have to imagine that with the constant moving of art, it’s eventually going to fall apart and the art will just slide off the shelf and into the ground.

I think youre going to need to make sure as you space your shelves and your art out that there is something that supports the artwork as well as the shelf. I think you’re going to need to use some sort of support for the shelf to make it look like it’s sturdy. And since shelves are so cheap, you might want to use something that can hold a lot of weight.
